Collecting Levels

Rare Printed

The Rare Printed Collection groups together several of the Library's collections - Australian Rare Books, Children's Literature Research, M. V. Anderson Chess, Maps, and Rare Books. These collections are strong in areas that the Library has traditionally emphasised and continues to give priority to.

Together with the Australian Manuscripts and Pictures collections, these heritage collections form a body of material of international significance, and are regularly drawn upon for Library and touring exhibitions.

The Library continues to acquire rare printed materials as resources permit.
