Christmas Holiday Hours and Services

The Library will be closed on Christmas Day, 25 December, but will be open for the remainder of the holiday period, with reduced hours and services. Holiday hours, for Monday 24 December and Wednesday 26 December to Tuesday 1 January are 10am to 6pm. Normal opening hours will resume on Wednesday 2 January.
During the holiday period, the Library will provide basic information and copying services, and delivery of requested items from onsite storage. The exception is onsite heritage materials, which must be requested by 3pm on Monday 24 December.
If you wish to use materials that are held in our offsite store over the holiday period, you must request them in advance as follows:
- Offsite heritage material - request by 3pm, Thursday 20 December
- Offsite newspapers – request by 5.30pm, Thursday 20 December
- Offsite books and serials – request by 5.30pm, Sunday 23 December.
The Library's Heritage collections, including Rare Printed, Manuscripts and Pictures, will not be open for appointments.
In addition, the Library's Chat with a Victorian Librarian service and the national AskNow online chat service will close from the end of the day Friday 21 December and re-open on Monday 7 January.
