Eileen Chanin: modern women of the arts

Hear art historian and author Eileen Chanin discuss some of the themes connecting four pioneering women of the arts, whom she researched with Steven Miller as part of their joint 2006 creative fellowship.

Dora Ohlfsen, Louise Hanson-Dyer, Alleyne Clarice Zander and Mary Cecil Allen were all expatriate pioneers in the international arts world between World War I and II. Chanin discusses some of the themes that connected their lives including being expatriate Australians, World War I, and women's emancipation and independence.
