David is a wordsmith of many hats. As well as being Mr Dictionary on SBS's Letters and numbers, he's also written five books including, Puzzled: secrets and clues from a life lost in words.
His short stories appear in a sprawl of anthologies, from Sleepers Almanacs to Meanjin, with one tale earning him a world trip with the James Joyce Foundation in 2001. He's been recognised as a gifted teacher of creative writing and journalism at RMIT and writes a weekly column on language for the Sydney Morning Herald.
