Bill Thompson on digital citizenship

Public libraries are being challenged by the rapid emergence of new technologies. How will they remain relevant? UK technology writer Bill Thompson looks at libraries of the future as agents of change – by remaining, as they always have been, 'flowers of literacy'.

Bill has been working in new media since the 1980s and established The Guardian's first website in 1994. He's currently a technology writer, and appears weekly on the BBC's Digital planet.

This presentation was held at the State Library of Victoria on 16 November 2009.
