Vicki Williamson on libraries & education

The tertiary education sector is changing rapidly. Student demands are increasing and libraries must adapt to meet their needs. Dr Vicki Williamson discusses the major changes in universities and in scholarly communication in the last decade and considers the capability of the library profession to respond to new technologies and the rapidly changing environment.

At the time she delivered the presentation, Vicki was pro-vice-chancellor (administrative & academic support) at the University of Ballarat, deputy-president of the Library Board of Victoria, and chair of the Advisory Committee on Public Libraries. Shortly after, she moved to Canada to be dean of the University Library at the University of Saskatchewan.
