One Georges Mora Foundation Fellowship of $10,000 is awarded to any Australian citizen or resident who has a demonstrated art practice and has shown a continuous commitment to the field of contemporary art. There is no age limit. The recipient can also apply for a residency in La Rochelle, France through the Alliance Française de Melbourne.
The fellowship is for three months fulltime, or one year part-time. Both individuals and those working collaboratively can apply.
The Georges Mora Foundation Fellow will also have the opportunity to apply for one short residency at the Baldessin Press in St Andrews.
Applications for the 2014–15 Georges Mora Foundation Fellowships open on Friday 31 January and close on Thursday 17 April 2014.
The successful applicant must start and finish their fellowship within 12 months of the award's announcement and give a public presentation of their project's results.
The Georges Mora Foundation board awards the fellowship based on the advice of a selection panel that includes the Foundation, the Library, the Alliance Française and other representatives.
Applicants must submit a written application with supporting visual material of up to five images or five minutes of time-based work presented on a CD or DVD.
Selection criteria include standard of work, reason for applying, intention, professional experience and availability to undertake the fellowship. The application must include the names of three referees.
