Dr Christoff delivers one of the panel presentations. He examines regional and international efforts, why Kyoto still important and what follows it. He discusses how to cooperate with the major emitters (China, India, and Brazil). He also looks at Australia and the near Asia region, or 'being the mouse that roared'.

Dr Peter Christoff is Professor, School of Anthropology, Geography and Environmental Studies, University of Melbourne. He is Vice-President of the Australian Conservation Foundation and, formerly, a director of Greenpeace Australia-Pacific. He is currently engaged in a comparative study of climate change policy across three federated states, including Australia, Canada and Germany.

This presentation was part of the 'Meeting the Challenge of Climate Change' seminar at the State Library of Victoria, 27 March 2007.
