The Hon John Cain introduces the talk. Kirsty Sword discusses the critical role of libraries in the development of Timor-Leste and their contribution to community development and education. The Hon Steve Bracks describes his work and shares his observations on the country's ongoing development needs.

This talk was held at the State Library of Victoria on Monday 11 May 2009.

The Hon Steve Bracks is Special Adviser to Timor-Leste Prime Minister Xanana Gusmão and a former Premier of Victoria.
