Internet & Email Training

These training sessions are part of the Skills.net Roadshow program, which is funded by the Victorian Government and coordinated by Vicnet

Welcome to the Net!

Welcome to the Net! is a practical introduction to the internet and the World Wide Web. You'll learn the basics of Internet Explorer (considered by many to be the easiest way to access the internet's vast resources). The emphasis is on practical information - how to follow links, open a specific web page, etc.

Find it on the Net!

Find it on the Net! is for people who have a basic understanding of the internet, Internet Explorer and the World Wide Web, and want to learn which search tool to use and how to use it to find that elusive piece of information!

You'll discover how subject directories and search engines actually work, how to plan a general search strategy and what can be done with useful results.  A number of practical exercises should see you quickly become a more efficient and satisfied researcher.

Intro to Email

Intro to Email is for people who have a basic understanding of the internet, Internet Explorer and the World Wide Web, and would like to use email but don't know where to start.

Using Web-based email (such as Yahoo!) you will establish a free email account and then learn how to access this account and check for new messages. You will also be taught how to write, send and reply to messages.
