Professional Development Seminars for Teachers

The Library's Education Team runs full-day professional development sessions for school teachers.

Web 2.0 and humanities

This professional development workshop for teachers will explore freely available Web 2.0 applications and ways to use them to engage students in the humanities. Teachers will have the opportunity to develop their skills, discover resources and collaborate on new ideas and directions. All participants will receive a certificate of completion. Morning and afternoon tea provided.
Time: Tuesday 8 September, 9.30am–4pm
Venue: Conference Centre (Entry 3, La Trobe Street)
Cost: $75 per person

Gaming, students and the curriculum

At this introductory professional development workshop teachers will discover a range of games and explore their part in multi-literacy development. The day will include hands-on activities, curriculum ideas, topic discussions and opportunities to engage with experts in the gaming field. All participants will receive a certificate of completion. Morning and afternoon tea provided.
Time: Tues 20 October, 9.30am–4pm
Venue: Conference Centre (Entry 3, La Trobe Street)
Cost: $100 per person
