Reading Victoria is Launched!
7 December 2006
A ceremony to launch Reading Victoria was held at Experimedia, the State Library of Victoria on Thursday 7 December 2006. Readers can now vote for their favourite Victorian fiction of all-time by SMS or at their public library over the summer.
Anne-Marie Schwirtlich, CEO and State Librarian, officially launched the program which celebrates 20 great novels set close to home. Jane Sullivan from The Age spoke at the launch as well as Arnold Zable, whose novel Café Scheherazade appears on the Reading Victoria list, and Tony Wilson, whose novel Players also appears on the list.
