Bayside Library Launch

Bayside Library hosted a wonderful Reading Victoria champagne launch at the Brighton library on Sunday 10 December. The excessive heat could have been the reason that only five members of the public attended, but what a great afternoon's entertainment they experienced.

Bayside staff excelled themselves with enthusiastic accounts of specific books on the reading list and were truly inspirational in making the rest of us want to dash to the shelves and start reading immediately. Each presentation was superb; wit, passion, intrigue were brought to life by personal insights, readings and a Helen Garner inspired monologue.

"Thankyou. I got a lot out of today. I'm so pleased I came," one lady remarked as she left.

Two other ladies, curious to know "What's going on up there?" as the audience erupted into laughter, found out about the Library run Book Clubs and went off armed with information with a return visit. A very successful event - not judged on numbers alone.
