Stephen Carroll was born in Melbourne and lives in Brunswick. He has taught English, played in bands, worked as a playwright and as theatre critic for The Sunday Age. His novels include Momoko, The Love Song of Lucy McBride and The Gift of Speed. Stephen’s fourth novel, The Art of the Engine Driver, was short listed for the 2002 Miles Franklin award.
