AuthorFrank Hardy
Frank Hardy was born in 1917 to a working-class family near Warrnambool. He left school at 13 and by the age of 17 was a pot-stirring advocate of workers’ rights and Aboriginal welfare, as well as a dedicated punter. Two months after publishing his controversial classic Power without Glory, he was jailed and charged with criminal libel. After a long writing career he died in 1994 with a form guide in his lap.
