A good book is essential equipment for summer, whether you're at the beach, in the bush or in your own backyard.
That's why we've put together a selection of great books for the 2008 Summer Read program. The list includes something for everyone - novels, short stories, non-fiction and poetry. And they're all set in Victoria or by Victorian authors!
How can I get involved?
- Read the books on the Summer Read shortlist.
- Vote online or by SMS for your favourite summer read and be in the running to win one of several great prizes.
- Share your ideas about books with other readers and the summer read authors on the blog from 21 November.
- Attend free events in public libraries across the state.
