About the Creative Fellowships

Aims of the Creative Fellowships

The Creative Fellowships demonstrate the State Library's strong commitment to original scholarship, writing and creative endeavour. They aim to:

  • promote the State Library of Victoria as a centre of scholarly activity and research
  • encourage scholarly, literary and creative use of the Library's collections and the production of publications/work based on them
  • publicise the Library's collections.

Benefits

The principal benefit of the Creative Fellowships is to give scholars, writers and artists the means and the uninterrupted time to work closely with the rich resources of the State Library of Victoria. Fellows will have access to a private study for the course of their Fellowship. They may use the Library outside the opening hours of reading rooms.

Eligibility to apply

The Creative Fellowships are open to independent scholars, historians, artists, writers, composers, developers of new media and others working across a broad range of disciplines. Applicants must be Australian residents.
