Interlibrary Loan

This service is for onsite and offsite users of the State Library of Victoria. Books and journals that are not held by the Library may be obtained from other libraries. Information about the types of material available for loan, and the loan periods is available in the Library's ILRS directory entry (type 'SLV' into the 'Name' field.) 

Conditions & charges

This is a fee-based service and recommended charges apply. The estimated delivery time is two weeks for core requests.

Express and Rush services are available for those who need to obtain information from other libraries fast. Overseas libraries can be approached on your behalf to satisfy your interlibrary loan request, with a delivery time from four weeks depending on the supplier.

How do I access this service?

Onsite users can request forms from staff at any of the Information Desks and should pay at the Book Desk at the time of the request. Offsite users can contact the Document Supply Service directly.

For overseas requests the Library's Document Supply Service will provide a quote once an overseas supplier has been located.
