Photocopying Service

The Library offers a prepaid photocopying service for items in its collection. This is known as 'deferred photocopying'. Most material on open access, or delivered from stacks can be photocopied, with the exception of material deemed too fragile or vulnerable to photocopy.

The Service includes black-and-white and colour photocopies as well as printouts from microfilm and microfiche. Large format copying from maps, plans and architectural drawings up to A0 in size can be reproduced to A1.

What items cannot be photocopied?

Restrictions are imposed on some items to avoid damage to valuable and irreplaceable items. If an item is not suitable for photocopying, another form of copying may be available. Copying of artworks and pictures must be by photographic means not photocopying. Full list of restricted items

How to order photocopies

More information can be obtained from any information desk in the Library. Orders for the deferred photocopy service are taken by Library staff. Payment is made at the Book Desk in the Information Centre. (The location of information desks and reading rooms is clearly marked on the Library Floor Plan.)

The Copying Service price list includes information about options, pricing, turnaround times, as well as postage and handling charges.

Where the deferred photocopying service is not required, Library users can undertake self-service copying using Library equipment or self-service copying using their own personal copying equipment.
