View of Melbourne City Mission at 282 Exhibition Street on south-east corner of Exhibition and Little Lonsdale Streets looking south. Three-storey building with row of arched windows on each level. Balustrade on top with scrolled brackets under cornice. Full length flat pilasters. Chamfered corner with columns and pediment displaying plaque in arched niche. Inscription reading 'Melbourne City Mission Head-Quarters / Sister Graces Auxiliary / Hostel for Girls / Elizabeth Fry Retreat / Dr. Singleton's Home / Men's Hostel-Maternity Home / Pilgrim's Rest Home / Mission Halls'. Suspended veranda over Exhibition Street entrance on right with partial sign reading 'Melbourn[e City Mission]'. Car parked in Little Lonsdale street.
