New Reading Room M. P. L. Roof over Annulus [i.e.Domed Reading Room Melbourne Public Library]

Plan of concrete floor, and section A. B. Beam under Buttress. Section A B shows the bent Kahn Trussed bars with alternating diagonals. The Kahn system, used by the Trussed Concrete Steel Company involved slitting the flange of an inverted steel T beam and bending it up. It is represented on the drawing by diagonal broken lines.
