Join the Library community

State Library Victoria offers all Victorians free access to our extensive collections, resources and expert staff. Joining as a free Access member means you can be part of our community and get access anywhere, anytime.

We also offer fee-based memberships, where you get the value of a free membership plus added benefits, including member-only experiences, curated content, and exclusive access to reserved, private spaces at the Library. A portion of your membership fee also plays a positive role in nurturing our programs and expanding our collections for the wider Library community.

Sign up for your free digital library card. Your State Library Victoria Access membership will enable you to:
Access almost six million collection titles with the ability to order digital copies and extracts
Access thousands of ebooks, ejournals, magazine and newspaper databases and other eresources
Book meeting rooms and creative technology studios

We have 4 meeting rooms available to book online when you log in using your Library membership.

Our studios include equipment to help you produce your next audio project, whether that’s a podcast or a piece of music.
