Get ready for a winter wonderland of fun at the Library's We Are Makers program.

Inspired by Millie Mak the Maker, join us for workshops, storytimes, and craft led by the creators Alice Pung OAM and Sher Rill Ng.

Grab your paper, tape, and imagination, and dive into Paper Planet with Polyglot for an unforgettable experience that blends theatre and play. This unique family experience will let your creativity soar.

And the excitement doesn't end there. After dark, it's Kids Takeover time! With rave parties, illuminated art installations, shadow storytelling and torchlit tours.

Millie Mak Craft: Paper Dolls

Cut out and make your Millie Mak doll using your favourite colours and patterns. Have fun mixing and matching outfits to create a doll that is all yours!

Sessions run daily from 29 June to 2 July between 1 to 3 pm.

Millie Mak the Maker Storytime

Millie Mak is 9 years old and has just discovered she has a superpower!

She can turn everyday objects into something new, beautiful and useful. Who would ever think that you could make a sunhat from an old bedsheet, a skirt from a tea towel, or some hair scrunchies from a scarf?

Join award-winning author-illustrator team Alice Pung and Sher Rill Ng for this special Storytime, introducing you to the world of Millie Mak the Maker.

Millie Mak Workshop: Scrunchies and Bags

Turn old clothes into something new in our do-it-yourself (DIY) workshops with Alice Pung and Sher Rill Ng.

From the book Millie Mak the Maker, these workshops are all about getting creative with everyday objects. Be just like Millie and recreate one of her scrunchies or bags from the book, but add your twist!

Paper Planet workshops

In a small grove of tall cardboard trees, kids and their families use paper, tape and their imaginations to create creatures, plants, costumes, characters and adventures.

Children choose what to create and can add their creations to the trees or take them home for further play.

Storytime: After Dark

The people have left, the lights dimmed, and the Library has gone to bed. Or so the grown-ups think!

Sneak in with your teddy bear, wear your favourite jammies and snuggle up for an enchanting storytime after dark. Listen to twilight tales and join in on soothing songs and lullabies as the sun sets.

You can also buy some hot cocoa and cookies.
