Schulim Krimper is regarded as Australia’s most significant furniture maker of the postwar period. Mark Strizic recalls the bond that formed between the two émigré artists while working on Krimper’s retrospective exhibition: ‘[It] was only when the first photographs were printed that he opened up, spoke warmly and smiled. Through my photography of his exquisite furniture he knew how much his work was appreciated.’
