Many public libraries boast music collections, but rarely do these include 7" singles.

The Library has recently bucked that trend with its acquisition of a whopping 30,000 vinyl singles from the golden era of the form – the '50s to the '80s.

These are gradually being catalogued and becoming available to audiophiles and pop-music lovers visiting the Library.

So if you'd like to hear the B-side of Spandau Ballet's Gold, or relive Hot Butter's Popcorn replete with vinyl pops and crackles, contact us or visit our Arts Reading Room to place a request.
