Sue Broadway

Performance work and installation: Circus and vaudeville in Victoria: history, artists, audiences, venues, events past and present.

This project aims to develop a storyboard for a performance event based on the material and stories in the State Library’s collections, drawing on Sue’s circus experience and background as a descendant of the Broadway vaudeville family.

Sue Broadway is a key figure in Australia’s circus community. She was a founding member of Circus Oz in 1978, and has performed with them as an aerialist and acrobat all over the world.
