What's on for Melbourne Knowledge Week
Melbourne’s annual festival of ideas is popping up at the Library!
Join us for Melbourne Knowledge Week (26 April to 2 May), where everyone is encouraged to explore, examine and imagine our future together as a smart and innovative city.
Across a week of activities, workshops, panels, performances, exhibitions and more, MKW invites you to ask questions, pose challenges and explore the results.
Past patents, future inventions (Thursday 29 April)
Join us for a panel discussion where experts in historical patents and patent law will join with inventors and innovators to explore some of our city's most interesting inventions.
Exploring historical patents dating back as far as 1854, as well as the future inventions on our horizon, this talk will inspire attendees and share crucial information on how they can get started in their own journey of invention.
'My invention, my story': Girls Invent workshops (Saturday 1 May)
In a hands-on workshop, kids turn a problem, need or desire from their own lives into something they can create.
Run by Girls Invent, 'My invention, my story' will connect kids with their powers of observation and innovation to create a prototype of an invention uniquely their own.
