Winter storytelling workshops
Entertain your little ones this winter at our Gandel Storytelling workshops, for children aged 5 to 12.
From Indigenous stories to musical activities and craft making, these sessions will have your family covered during the cooler months.
Gandel Storytelling Workshop: Wylah - the Koorie warrior
Date: 11am-12pm, Saturday 4 June
Explore the history and culture that inspired Wylah: the Koorie warrior's adventures, learn words and phrases in Peek Whurrong language (an Indigenous Victorian dialect) and create your own megafauna animal in the illustration component of this workshop.
Gandel Storytelling Workshop: Rachel Gyan
Date: 10.30am-11.30am or 1pm-2pm, Saturday 2 July
Unravel the stories of Australian native plants through illustrator Rachel Gyan's hands-on workshop, which will connect children to the natural world around them and inspire limitless possibilities for future at-home creations.
Gandel Storytelling Workshop: Welcome to Country
Date: 10.30am-11.30am or 2pm-3pm, Saturday 6 August
Join us for an Indigenous art and storytelling workshop, hosted by Senior Wurundjeri elder Aunty Joy Murphy Wandin and artist Lisa Kennedy, co-creators of the kids’ book Welcome to Country.
Pauline Gandel Children’s Quarter, supported by the Gandel Foundation, is a purpose-built space for children and families to read, learn and play, with an associated program of activities.
