2017: Kyleigh Langrick

'Design thinking for public libraries'

The scholarship supported Kyleigh's investigation of Australian businesses and American libraries that have applied design thinking methodology to review their service models. Kyleigh's research resulted in the development of an Australian-specific Design Thinking Libraries Toolkit.

2015: Paula Kelly

Ms Kelly developed a model for training librarians to support parents to improve the literacy outcomes of very young children.

2013: Susie Prestney

Ms Prestney undertook an internship at the California State Library and toured public libraries in the San Jose area to explore programs designed to engage a volunteer workforce from the community.

2011: Leonee Derr

Ms Derr toured public libraries in the US, Netherlands, Scandinavia, Estonia and Croatia to research best practice in library services for young adults aged 16 to 24.

2009: Jennie Bolitho

Ms Bolitho toured libraries in the UK and undertook the Get into reading training course. She gained accreditation as a trainer and is developing a Victorian model with a pilot program in Melbourne.

2007: Pam Howard

Ms Howard toured library services in the UK that demonstrate collaboration with other community sectors through the delivery of innovative outreach services to rural and town centres.

2006: Anna Boland

Ms Boland's tour of US public libraries highlighted services that involve the whole family in literacy learning and educate parents in their role as their child's most important teacher.

2005: Lorraine Seeger & Bernardine Nolan

Ms Seeger and Ms Nolen toured UK public libraries to study programs that address issues of social inclusion and its importance in building strong communities.

2004: Gayle Rowden

Ms Rowden's study tour of UK and Canadian public libraries investigated the services provided to the aged and housebound.

2003: Helen Zibell

Ms Zibell examined the operations and management of library consortia in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

2002: Anne Armstrong

Ms Armstrong evaluated Australian public library reference and information services.
